Cindy Gutierrez-Krapp
About Me
Cynthia Gutierrez-Krapp is a Diné, Mescalero Apache, and Yaqui textile artist from the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. After studying fiber arts and fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and traditional beading in NYC, she returned home to El Paso in 2018.
She founded Pins & Needles, a fiber arts project where she teaches bead weaving, weaving, embroidery, and knitting. Through her work, Cynthia explores healing from generational trauma and reconnecting to her Indigenous roots. In 2019 she launched Aghaa Hat Co, where she creates handmade hats that blend beading, textile arts, embroidery, and traditional craft.
